LUMBY – Lumby has a chance to win a contest that will give it the money to fix up the village’s aging arena.

The top 10 finalists in this year’s Kraft Hockeyville contest were announced last night, March 6, and Lumby is the only B.C. community still in the running.

First place would mean $100,000 for upgrades to the Pat Duke Memorial Arena, plus the village would host a pre-season NHL game. The second place community will also get $100,000 — just no NHL game.

The 8 runners-up will all get $25,000, so technically, Lumby is already a winner.

Voting at the Kraft Hockeyville website opens March 13 and closed March 14.
