Luck of Irish with latest winner

Kevin Truscott can't wait to take his wife on a weekend getaway after winning the InfoTel Multimedia St. Patrick's Day Contest grand prize this week.

KAMLOOPS — Kevin Truscott is not Irish, but it seems the luck of the Irish was with him this St. Patrick's Day, when he was announced as the winner of the most recent InfoTel Multimedia contest.

Truscott entered the St. Patrick's Day contest in the hopes of being able to take his wife Marian on a weekend away but was still surprised when he got the email that said he had won.

"At first I thought it was a phishing scheme," he says. "I don't ever win anything."

He admits it has been an odd week with several other small 'lucky' things happening to him, like getting his name chosen first for a door prize.

Turscott isn't expecting the luck to continue when he takes his wife away on their weekend getaway to the Delta Grand Okanagan Resort and Lake City Casino in Kelowna later this spring.

"I'll have to ask my mom for tips, she's the lucky one at the slot machines," he says.

Truscott won two nights at the hotel, $500 in slot play money for the casino and a $100 gift card to Kelly O'Bryan's.
