Looking for a forever home; Penticton SPCA pet of the week

Lucia came to the Penticton SPCA shelter with another cat as a stray we do not know much about her.

At first she is a very shy girl who needed a lot of love and patience, but recently Lucia has come out of her shell.

While still a quiet cat who loves to lay in a scratching post, she now really enjoys afftection and has a loud purr.

She seems to have lived a rough life before her arrival at the shelter and we would love to see her finally happy in a quiet home where she can relax and be herself.

Lucia's Animal ID number is 365378.

OPINION This week's column is another excerpt from a book I am writing about growing up in Florida during the 1950s and 1960s. Again, despite the distance in miles and time, perhaps it will sound familiar to some
