KELOWNA - Two people accused of trespassing on private property and having sex in someone's hot tub have been arrested.
An 18-year-old Kelowna man and Surrey woman were arrested Friday, May 27. The man was held in police custody and later released on strict conditions, according to Const. Jesse O'Donaghey. The woman was released and will appear in court in August.
RCMP were called to a home in the 1900-block of McDougall Street at around 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 25, to investigate a report of trespassing, mischief and theft.
According to a RCMP media release sent at the time, a man and a woman walked onto the property, looked into the home’s windows and climbed into the homeowner’s hot tub.
“The suspects were captured on video surveillance as they consumed alcohol, smoked cigarettes and engaged in physical relations,” Const. Jess O’Donaghey says in the release.
He says the footage also shows the suspects trying to steal an "outdoor electronic device."
Both face potential charges of trespassing at night, mischief under $5,000 and theft under $5,000.
