KELOWNA - A solid third period contributed to the Kelowna Chiefs picking up a road victory at the start of the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend.

The Chiefs hit the road to Summerland where they defeated the Steam 3 – 2 Friday night.

Kelowna could open up scoring in the first with a powerplay goal courtesy of Dylan Jamieson. (2G)

The second period was scoreless for the Chiefs but the Steam’s Olli Dickson was able to get one by Connor DeMelo to tie up the game at 6:08.

The Chiefs would charge ahead in the third and final period when Jamieson netted his second of the night at 11:41 followed by goal from Nick Josephs.

Summerland wouldn’t go down without a fight with a goal at 0:32 from Braden Saretsky.

Connor DeMelo faced a total of 36 shots on net in the victory.

Rutland’s very own Kelowna Chiefs have the weekend off and are back in action on Tuesday to once again face the Princeton Posse.  Game time is 7PM at Rutland Arena.
