Kamloops Mayor takes up Movember challenge

Clean-shaven Mayor Peter Milobar

On your mark, get set, mo!

Did you know that prostate cancer is the second most common cancer in men worldwide, and rates of testicular cancer diagnosis have doubled over the past 50 years? One in four adults is not active enough, which contributes to poor health – but moving on a regular basis can reduce your risk of heart disease, diabetes, and cancer by up to 50%! Movember aims to bring awareness to these issues and challenges everyone to raise funds by growing a moustache or making a commitment to get active.

In support of Movember, Mayor Peter Milobar has pledged to grow his ‘mo’ for 30 days, and he is inviting members of the community to join his team.

The City of Kamloops Movember team will be challenging Prince George’s team to see which city can raise the most money for the cause. Visit the team page, and keep on top of the inter-city Movember battle here.

“This is an important initiative to bring awareness to men’s health issues. Join my team, or support the cause in another way, and together we can help change the face of men’s health,” said Mayor Peter Milobar.

Anyone can sign up here to help support the cause as an individual, start their own team, or join an existing team. Friends and family can donate to the Movember movement using the same website.
