A Kamloops-area ski resort has a unique spring offer for skiers and snowboarders who are willing to travel from other regions in BC and around the world.

Sun Peaks Resort is offering skiers and snowboarders a 50% discount on their lift tickets if they have a season pass anywhere else in the world, according to a Sun Peaks news release. The pass, ID and proof of purchase at Sun Peaks is all that is needed to receive the discount.

The offer is running for the last two weeks of the ski season at the resort from March 25 to April 7, closing day.

"We couldn't think of a better way to close out the season, than by offering an accessible discount to entice skiers and riders from other areas to visit us this spring," Christina Antoniak with Sun Peaks Resort said in the release.

"This can be paired with some fantastic accommodation deals, like 35% off at the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel, which is Sun Peak's premiere hotel property. Village retailers are now blowing out inventory up to 70% off, so all around it's the perfect time to stay, dine and shop while taking your last turns of the season."

While spring is well on its way, the skiing conditions are shaping up to be great for the end of the season. The base at the mountain has 5.5 feet of snow with more than a foot of snow falling this month already.

As most British Columbians will be on spring break in the last two weeks of March, the resort is expecting many visitors from across the province.

Sun Peaks will host several events to end the season. These include the new Sip, Savour and Ski Festival from March 28 to 31, which will be presented in partnership with Brewhalla Beer and Music Festivals.

"We wanted to amplify the already vibrant spring culture in the villages and this event brings together craft beverage tastings, artisanal food, fun games, and music. It's one of eight unique events over the festival weekend, from wine and cider pairing events to the hot chocolate hop for all ages, and so much more," Naomi Kerchinsky with the resort said in the release.

On closing weekend, April 6 and 7, Wonder Weekend will take place at the resort, which will include things like the Slush Cup, Retro Days, Snow Way Down Bike Slalom and Top to Bottom's Run.

The resort's Terrain Park will also be hosting events like The Garden Party Rail Jam on March 17, the What the Huck Knuckle Huck and Rail Jam on March 22, the BC Snowboard Grom Series on March 26, and Elleboard Ladies Snowboard Camp on March 27.
