VIDEO RELEASED TODAY ON PARLIAMENT HILL ATTACK

The RCMP will show MPs a video today in which the man who killed a soldier in Ottawa then stormed the Parliament Buildings explains why he did so. The House of Commons safety committee will see the video made by Michael Zehaf Bibeau. RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson will also provide an update on the investigation into the case. The Mounties have been under pressure for months to release the video.

JURORS GET LEGAL INSTRUCTIONS IN VIA RAIL TERROR TRIAL

The jury that will decide the fate of two men accused of plotting to attack a Via Rail passenger train will be given legal instructions today. Justice Michael Code says his address will be lengthy and could continue into Monday. Raed Jaser and Chiheb Esseghaier face several terror-related charges in the alleged plot to derail a Via train travelling from New York to Toronto.

PAIR ACCUSED IN HALIFAX MALL PLOT EXPECTED IN COURT TODAY

Two young people accused of plotting to open fire on shoppers in a Halifax mall are expected to return to court today. Lindsay Kanittha Souvannarath, 23, of Geneva, Ill., and Randall Steven Shepherd, 20, of Halifax were charged last month with several charges, including conspiracy to commit murder. Police allege the pair had planned to commit mass murder at the Halifax Shopping Centre on Valentine's Day.

ONTARIO PREMIER TO UNVEIL SEXUAL VIOLENCE ACTION PLAN

Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne will launch an action plan today on sexual violence and harrassment. She says she is determined to use her influence as the province's first female premier to improve the lot of all women. Wynne's plan will include a public education campaign aimed at ensuring women who are "brave enough" to come forward with complaints aren't re-victimized.

LAWYER URGES MERCY FOR ALTA. MOTHER WHO ABUSED TWIN GIRLS

An Edmonton judge is expected to sentence a woman today who starved and abused her twin daughters. The woman, who can't be named under a publication ban, pleaded guilty to a number of charges including manslaughter. One of the emaciated two-year-old girls died. The prosecution is calling for a sentence of at least 23 years in prison while the woman's lawyer is pleading for a more lenient sentence.

A shark that was tagged two years ago has her own Twitter account and a tracker that has given scientists and the public the first ever details about great whites. Almost 3,000 Twitter fans are following Lydia's movements, which span more than 56,000 kilometres in Atlantic. They can trace Lydia's movements each time her fin breaks water, pinging new data by satellite to computer trackers.
