UPDATE: Human remains are "skeletal"

The ranch property where human skeletal remains were found yesterday.

KAMLOOPS – Human skeletal remains found on a ranch property at the west end of Mission Flats road are still being investigated by the RCMP Serious Crime Unit. The local coroner attended the scene yesterday and specialist coroner services from the lower mainland will be arriving at the scene later this afternoon.

The RCMP has cordoned off a large area on the private property to protect any surrounding evidence. A person living at the property discovered the remains yesterday.
Kamloops RCMP Media Relations Officer, Cheryl Bush could not comment if the remains were male or female or if they were of a missing person. The remains have yet to be identified.

“As soon as we identify the individual, obviously it’s a priority to notify the family,” Bush said.
