VERNON – The investigation into the cause of a fire at an abandoned house in downtown Vernon is underway.

Fire crews were called to the blaze at 3012 30 Ave. just west of the Schubert Centre at midnight Friday.

No word yet if the fire is considered suspicious.

Earlier in the evening, firefighters put out a burning car in the parking lot at the Temptasian restaurant at 5600 Anderson Way in the city’s north end.
