UPDATE: Highway 1 open again between Revelstoke and Golden

UPDATE: Highway 1 between Golden and Revelstoke is now open in both directions.

GOLDEN B.C. - RCMP have shut down a section of Highway 1 between Revelstoke and Golden following a serious vehicle accident.

RCMP say the four vehicle crash claimed the lives of two women and happened at roughly 2:30 p.m. Friday near Canyon Rough Springs located 30 kilometres east of Revelstoke, according to Global Okanagan. Another man is in critical condition. The vehicles involved include a small car and three pickup trucks with one pulling a trailer.
