The B.C. Wildlife Park says one of their mountain goats, Gustav, was killed after being struck by lightning earlier this week.

KAMLOOPS - One of the mountain goats at B.C. Wildlife Park was struck and killed by lightning during Tuesday night’s powerful storm.
Gustav the Mountain Goat came into the care of the B.C. Wildlife Park last May when he was found alone near Kaslo, according to the wildlife park’s Facebook post.
“Gustav was very young when he arrived (and) required bottle feeding every two hours,” the post reads.
Although he had a rough start to his life, Gustav was described as feisty and full of energy.
“Everyone fell in love with Gus the moment they met him,” the post says.
Earlier this summer, Gus outgrew Dave and was finally large enough to be moved into the Mountain Goat habitat with the Park’s two other mountain goats, Cloud and Gerrard.
"Gus loved climbing and exploring his new mountain enclosure and the BC Wildlife Park team loved watching him transition from a newborn to a young mountain goat. The BC Wildlife Park is grateful to have had the opportunity to give Gustav a second chance at life, and he will be forever missed," the post says.
