It's spring, the days are getting longer and the snow is melting. If that says to you it's time to get some spring projects done, the Penticton home show might be the place to start.
It's billed as the biggest home and renovation show in the Okanagan and it's returning to Penticton on March 7 and 8 for the 25th year.
The Home & Reno Show, produced by the Canadian Home Builders Association South Okanagan at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 7. Admission is $5.
Saturday’s show runs until 5 p.m. and Sunday’s event takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
More than 148 displays devoted to home building, decorating and renovating products make this the biggest and best home show in the Okanagan.
Home Builders Association Executive Officer Sarah Taylor says the show has everything in the home and reno category.
"If you're looking to renovate your home or just go shopping for all things house-related, this is the place to be," she says.
The show is sold out to vendors. Taylor says there are local people as well as contractors and suppliers from all over the Okanagan.
"You can find your next electrician there, or the material you need for a new deck, or an interior design expert. There are all kinds of experts and supplies there for home and renovation. It should be a good show," she says.
Taylor says it's a good place for home builders or renovators because everything they need is in one place.
"All your shopping is in one spot. You can compare prices. There are different suppliers from all over, all under one roof. It's a very convenient spot to go to if you're looking for anything for your house," Taylor says.
There’s also a kids’ party zone and a concession, the Home Builders Association said in a press release issued by the South Okanagan Events Centre.
Admission is $5 at the door, and includes a chance to win a $2,500 closet and blind package from Skyview Blinds & Closets.
