PENTICTON - A giant slip and slip will be set up on Vanouver Hill in Penticton on Canada Day.

Slide the City will be coming to Penticton on July 1, according to a media release from the Downtown Penticton Association.

Calling the event a block party, organizers say the slide will be surrounded by food, music, local vendors and street entertainers in a three block portion of Vancouver Avenue.

Ticket prices start at $13 for a single slide and go as high as $99 for an all day pass.

The slide is restricted to people five years of age and older, and 46 inches or more in height.

Participants can register online at the Slide the City website.

Slide the City toured 70 cities last year, including Kamloops, with plans to visit 100 locations this year.
