CENTRAL OKANAGAN - Along with the holidays comes celebrations and gifts, which means more garbage and recycling.

But the pick-up people get some days off too which means some slight adjustments to the schedule.

Curbside pick-up ervice is largely unaffected by the holidays with Christmas and New Years the only days with service changes throughout the Central Okanagan.

Residents who would normally have pick-up on Fridays will have to put their garbage and recycling out on Saturday, Dec. 26 and Saturday, Jan. 2.

If you have too much recycling for your cart to handle, the Glenmore landfill and recycling depot are open regular hours, 7:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. but closed Christmas, Boxing Day and New Years Day.

The Westside waste disposal and recycling centre is also open regular hours, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. but closed Christmas, Boxing Day and New Years Day.

Regular service resumes Monday, Jan. 4 in all areas.

More information is available at the Waste Reduction office website.
