Free shuttle service for SOEC concert goers

PENTICTON - The City of Penticton and BC Transit have partnered to help concert goers make the most of their night out in the city. During special events two free shuttles will circle a downtown route taking passengers to and from the South Okanagan Events Centre (SOEC).

The first event to benefit from the service is the Don Henley concert on July 13, 2016.  Henley fans are encouraged to park free in the city, enjoy a pre-show dinner and hop on board the free shuttle. The Special Event Shuttles will run continuously downtown with convenient stops at the SS Sicamous, Lakeshore at Power Street and City Hall. Visitors and those planning a night in the city can also enjoy their evening without the worry of driving or arriving early to secure parking.  Henley concert goers were heard singing, ‘So call to the captain, please bring me my wine…’

The free service is part of a larger strategy to assist event goers to the SOEC complex. The free event shuttle will run from 6:30pm and 11:00pm. Further events this summer will have free shuttle service added. For a list of events and more info on the shuttle route, please click here.

Those not taking advantage of the shuttle are advised to arrive early on site and explore a map of on-street parking also available at the City of Penticton website.
