Four people found dead in home south of Ashcroft; RCMP investigating

VENABLES VALLEY - RCMP along with the B.C. Coroners Service are investigating the deaths of four people after they were found in a Venables Valley home yesterday afternoon.

Southeast District RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says in a news release that Ashcroft RCMP responded to a Venables Valley residence for a wellbeing check yesterday afternoon, March 24.

Moskaluk says officers found four people dead inside the home when they arrived. Southeast District Major Crimes Unit was called out to help assist the Ashcroft detachment with their investigation.

"The scene examination will be carried out throughout the weekend... Preliminary findings lead investigators to believe that there is no threat posed to the general public," Moskaluk says.

The B.C. Coroners Service is also investigating. Moskaluk says no other information will be released at this time. No word on if the deaths are suspicious in nature or if any arrests have been made.
