PEACHLAND - It's bad news for a Peachland reporter who is facing child pornography charges.

David Andrew Preston, 50, creator of an online news source called Peachlandnews.com was charged June 12 with making or publishing child pornography, importing or distributing child pornography and possession of child pornography. He is due back in court Dec. 5.

Preston's last post on Peachlandnews.com was Oct. 8. He started the website in November, 2010. He cited problems in his personal life as his reason for discontinuing the publication. His last post was recently removed and Peachlandnews.com is no longer available on the web.

Preston's public profile on LinkedIn states his previous work history includes owner/operator at Write Direction Communications, journalist/editorialist at The Peachland View and journalist/editorialist at The Peachland Signal. He is no longer an employee of The Peachland View or The Peachland Signal.

The @peachlandnews twitter feed shows Preston's activities moving along at a regular pace, with multiple postings each day until June 26.
