KAMLOOPS - A mayoral candidate from last year's municipal election is facing an assault charge in Kamloops Provincial Court.
Piero Luigi Filisetti, born 1959, is facing one count of assault with a weapon after he allegedly assaulted Brandon Burke with bear spray on Jan. 17.
Filisetti, who is more commonly known as Pierre, had his lawyer, Jeremy Jensen, appear on his behalf in Kamloops Provincial Court Monday, March 9.
The accused was one of four mayoral candidates in the election. He came in second place with 13.5 per cent of the votes against incumbent Mayor Peter Milobar who garnered 78.1 per cent of the votes.
