KAMLOOPS - Former city councillor and Thompson-Nicola Regional District board member Nancy Bepple is looking to provincial politics next.

Bepple, who sat on city council from 2008 to 2014, is seeking the NDP nomination for the Kamloops-South Thompson provincial riding. She will be making an official announcement on Tuesday, Aug. 30.

Bepple works at Thompson Rivers University in the career education department.

The current MLA for the riding is Minister of Transportation Todd Stone, who will be running for the Liberal Party again in 2017. He was acclaimed by the riding association earlier this summer.

Barbara Nederpel announced Monday she would be seeking the nomination for the NDP in the Kamloops-North Thompson riding. At the same time, the local NDP riding president announced there were no other candidates for the nomination and Nederpel will be acclaimed by the riding association Sept. 17.

Bepple is a columnist with iNFOnews.ca.
