PENTICTON -- A publication ban has been lifted on a prominent Penticton man charged with several accounts of sexual assault.
Gary A. Leaman, a former Penticton city councillor and 2008 mayoral candidate plead guilty to two charges of sexual assault during an arraignment hearing in Penticton Provincial Court on Jan. 29, 2014.
Leaman was General Manager of Cherry Lane shopping mall for over two decades and was an executive at the Chamber of Commerce and served one term as chamber president.
The publication ban was originally ordered by Judge Gale Sinclair. The ban was lifted today after an application by Joe Fries, a reporter with the Penticton Western News.
