KELOWNA – A local restaurant with a unique style and homey appeal will be profiled on a popular Food Network TV show.

Bill Morrison is the owner of The Jammery on Highway 97 between Kelowna and Lake Country. He says a producer for the show You Gotta Eat Here stopped by for lunch earlier this year and thought it would make a good feature for an episode.

“It’s like a winery but we make jam,” he says. “We have a jam production facility, a gift shop and a restaurant."

Since The Jammery opened to the public in 2000 Morrison says the response from the public has been outstanding.

“We’re an incredibly busy place with customers who come from all over the world,” he says.

Morrison says the Okanagan is a perfect area to produce a high-end fruit product like theirs. The majority of the fruit they use comes from local producers and what they can’t source locally comes from the Lower Mainland.

“It’s always nice to be recognized,” he says. “It’s especially nice that they found us; we didn’t go fishing for them.”

Taping begins next week and the episode will air sometime in the future.

For more information on the restaurant and their products visit the Jammery website.
