VERNON - It only took a day to select the jury that will decide whether or not a Cherryville man is guilty of murder.
Now that a jury has been appointed, Matthew Foerster’s first degree murder trial is scheduled to begin March 24. It is expected to last three weeks.
The 28-year-old is accused of murdering Armstrong teen Taylor Van Diest, 18, on Halloween night 2011. Van Diest was discovered by a search party of friends and family on the railway tracks in Armstrong, beaten and left for dead. Foerster was arrested five months later in Ontario. His father, Stephen Foerster has been ordered to stand trial for accessory after the fact to murder.
