KELOWNA - Beginning 7 a.m. on Thursday, June 9, Ethel Street between Stockwell and Bernard Avenues will close as work on phase two of the Ethel Street Active Transportation Corridor continues.
East-west cross streets within the construction zone, including Fuller and Wilson avenues, will be closed to thru traffic. Alternate routes are available via Bernard, Cawston, Coronation and Clement Avenues.
Pedestrians and cyclists are advised to detour due to uneven surfaces.
The $3.5 million project began in April and is anticipated for completion in October. Improvements will include separated cycle tracks on both sides of the road, new sidewalks, landscaping and utility improvements.
The City of Kelowna appreciates the patience of residents, businesses and motorists while construction is taking place.
