ELECTION 2015: Fun with the federal election

THOMPSON-OKANAGAN - To some, politics is lively and entertaining and engaging. To others, it’s nothing but boring.

If you're among the latter, we’ve come up with a few ways to make the 2015 federal election a little more entertaining.

If you are a betting person, you can vote on the outcome on a couple different options. Odds Shark allows you to bet on things like who will be named Prime Minister or whether it will be a majority government.

For family fun, try your hand at buzzword bingo. It can be used on election night to play with your family to get the kids involved, or turn it into a drinking game with your buddies.

If you enjoy fantasy sports, why not create a fantasy cabinet? This will take you beyond the actual election night and is yet another way to either engage the kids or have some fun with friends. You can get the full candidate lists for each party at these links: Bloc Quebecois, Conservative Party, Green Party, Liberal Party and New Democratic Party.

If a drinking game is what you’re after, try a variation of the Santa hat drinking game. Put a hat (Santa, elf, dunce, you’re choice) at the corner of your TV and when it lines up so it looks like someone is actually wearing it, take a shot. You could also try this with a clown or Pinocchio nose on the TV.
