Drugs and weapons cache earns charges for two Kelowna men

KELOWNA - A raid on a Rutland house has resulted in the seizure of drugs and guns and multiple charges for two Kelowna men.

RCMP spokesperson Const. Jesse O’Donaghey says in a meda release a police investigation on Monday, Sept. 19, lead to a search warrant for the home in the 700 block of Hollydell Road.

Inside police allege they found a .38 calibre semi-automatic pistol and a 12-guage pump action shotgun as well as varying quantities of cocaine, crack cocaine, methampetamine, heroin and marijuana.

Facing charges of possession of a firearm contrary to a possession order and possession for the purpose of trafficking are 33-year-old Mathew Van Exan and 33-year-old Kenneth Moyan.

Van Exan has been released from custody while Moyan remains in jail until his next court appearance Sept. 27.
