Don’t let snow stars go unnoticed

As memories of winter quickly melt away, please remember to nominate all those Snow Stars out there who lent a helping hand shoveling snow. The deadline to nominate a Snow Star is Saturday, March 15.

The District of West Kelowna created the Snow Star program in December to celebrate those neighbours in the community who went out of their way to help with the dreaded chore of shoveling snow, without being asked or expecting thanks. Keeping sidewalks clear of snow and ice can be a challenge for many residents and the Snow Star program was created to ensure that good Samaritans were recognized for their selfless acts each winter.

How to nominate a Snow Star

Send the District of West Kelowna a letter, e-mail or fill in an application form to nominate your shovel-toting neighbor for their chance to win a great prize to be drawn at random at the end of the season. To be eligible, the nominee must be a resident of the District of West Kelowna.

For more information, and to download and print a nomination form, please visit www.districtofwestkelowna.ca, and select Residents/Snow Star Program.
