CLEARWATER - A traffic stop in Clearwater led to the seizure of illegal guns, drugs, the arrest of two prolific offenders along with a laundry list of charges yesterday morning.

Tristian Paul Olson, 19, of Kamloops and Angeline Hammerstrom, 27, of Prince George are both facing several charges.

Officers were patrolling wildfire areas on Highway 5 in Clearwater on July 24 at 9:49 a.m., according to an RCMP release.

Once pulled over, police discovered the driver had a prohibited licence and was identified right away as Hammerstrom, a prolific offender from Prince George.

Olson was in the passenger seat and gave officers a fake name then attempted to flee on foot. He ran down Highway 5, dodging in and out of traffic, police say. They took him into custody shortly after the chase.

Police found a loaded .357 Magnum revolver and a .25 calibre Colt handgun. More weapons and illegal drugs were found on Olson.

Hammerstrom is facing charges of driving while prohibited, fail to comply with recognizance, possession of prohibited firearm with ammunition, carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of firearm and possession of weapon for dangerous purpose.

Olson is facing charges possessing prohibited firearm with ammunition, carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of firearm, possession of controlled substance and failure to comply with probation.

Both will appear in Kamloops court on July 26.
