Competitors to canoe, ski in tomorrow's 7-event race

Apex Mountain Ski Resort will be the finish line for The Elevator - a seven-stage race starting at Okanagan Lake.

The Elevator race crams canoe/kayak, road bike, mountain run/snowshoe, mountain bike, nordic ski, alpine ski (or snowboard) into one event on Saturday.

The first-of-its-kind race goes on tomorrow starting at the lakes of Penticton and ending at the slopes of the Apex Mountain Resort.

All teams must be registered and have checked in by 7:30 a.m. tomorrow to receive race packs and review any last minute changes.

The race starts at 8:30 a.m. at Okanagan Lake at the SS Sicamous.  Each competitor's race is officially finished once that person or a team member crosses the finish line past the gates of the downhill ski and rings a big bell.
