Kelowna, BC – October 27, 2013 – Rutland’s very own Kelowna Chiefs defeated the Princeton Posse to wrap up the weekend.
The Chiefs earned a 6 – 4 win on Sunday October 27th in Princeton.
The Posse’s Eric Kubis opened up scoring in the first period but Kelowna would quickly answer back with goals from Brady Mende and Dylan Jamieson.
Kelowna dominated the second period with Jagger Bowles (1G, 1A) and Cole De Jong (1G, 1A) both finding the net on the powerplay.
Princeton would come alive in the third period, scoring three but Kelowna wouldn’t let the Posse catch up. Nicholas Kovacik would get on the board along with Nick Josephs (1G, 1A) who scored on the empty net to solidify the win with 11 seconds remaining in the third.
Connor DeMelo faced 38 shots in the victory.
The victory improves the Kelowna Chiefs to 11 – 4 – 0 – 1 on the season with a total of 23 points.
Up next for the Chiefs is a road game in Osoyoos on Wednesday October 30th.
