KAMLOOPS - Bob Lenarduzzi is returning to Thompson Rivers University.

The Canadian soccer legend will be this year’s keynote speaker for the university’s annual scholarship breakfast in the fall.

Lenarduzzi represented Canada on the international stage and has been central to Vancouver’s soccer scene as a player, coach and administrator. He’s currently president of Vancouver’s Major League Soccer team, the Whitecaps.

He received an honourary doctorate this spring from the university as part of the school’s convocation ceremonies.

The breakfast is a fundraiser for student athletes and scholoarships. The event will be buffet style running from 6:45 a.m. to 8 a.m. Sept. 29 at the university’s Grand Hall. Tickets are $100.
