KAMLOOPS - A cab driver is in hospital with serious injuries after being stabbed by his fare on the south shore early this morning, police say.
The driver delivered his customer to Pleasant Street near 8 Avenue around 2 a.m. Aug. 24, when he was stabbed.
"The male cab driver suffered life threatening injuries and was transported to Royal Inland Hospital emergency by B.C. ambulance services," says Staff Sgt. Michel Grondin.
A lone male suspect was last seen running from the area and police weren't able to track him down. The Kamloops RCMP Serious Crime Unit has been called to assist with the investigation.
"Police efforts to identify and locate the suspect is ongoing," Grondin says.

Kamloops RCMP are asking anyone who may have saw the incident or who know who the suspect is to call them at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
