KAMLOOPS - RCMP is asking for the public's help to identify the man who robbed a bank in downtown Kamloops.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says in a media release a man robbed the Canada Trust bank on Victoria Street just after 1:30 p.m., Feb. 17. The suspect left on foot, heading up 3 Avenue toward Royal Inland Hospital.

Shelkie says officers were unable to find the suspect.

Police describe the suspect as a man about 50 years old, possibly First Nations, with a thin build who was hunched over when he walked. He was wearing a light brown jacket.

The suspect insinuated he had a weapon but never showed one, Shelkie says. No one was injured during the robbery.

Police have not yet obtained surveillance footage of the suspect, but will release an image as soon as possible.

Anyone with information about the robbery or identity of the suspect is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
