SILVER CREEK - A search is underway at a rural farm in Silver Creek, but RCMP aren't saying much at this point.
RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Dan Moskaluk says in a media release the Vernon-North Okanagan RCMP detachment are conducting a search of a property in the 2200 block of Salmon River Road today, Oct. 19.
"This investigative effort and execution of a search warrant is in relation to an ongoing investigation," Mosaluk says.
He adds no further information will be release as this time "in order to ensure the integrity of the ongoing investigation."
Numerous police officers, a dog team and a mobile command unit could be seen at the large, rural property Thursday afternoon. The property, which was completely taped off along Salmon River Road, consists of a house, a couple of trailers, barns and corrals. Investigators appeared to be searching numerous areas of the property.

Residents in the area expressed surprise and concern over the activity but no one seems to know who lives at the property. iNFOnews.ca has unconfirmed reports that police visited the same property roughly three weeks ago.
Police are also investigating an incident where a man threatened a woman with a firearm in August in the Salmon River Road area. In an earlier release, police said the woman met the man after arranging the visit via a website used by escorts and sex trade workers.
Salmon River Road also runs parralel to Yankee Flats Road, where two women — who went missing last year — had been living.
Police have not said if today’s investigation is linked to any of the other incidents.
