BREAKING: Body found at Kamloops pulp mill

KAMLOOPS - Police are investigating the discovery of a body at the Domtar Pulp Mill in Kamloops this afternoon.

Kamloops RCMP say that just after 3 p.m. today, March 7, they were called to the mill on Mission Flats Road after employees reported seeing a body in one of the ponds.

The RCMP Serious Crime Unit and the Coroner’s Officer are currently at the scene.

“The investigation is in infancy and very few details are available,” RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says in a media release.  “At this time it is unknown how the body came to be in the pond, how long it has been there or if foul play is suspected.”

The individual's gender and age have not been released.
