KAMLOOPS - It was a strong win to finish out the regular season but it was not enough to lift the Kamloops Blazers to a playoff spot.
With more than 5,000 fans in attendance, the Blazers beat the Prince George Cougars 5-2 at home to finish out the 2014-15 season. A win by the Tri-City Americans over the Spokane Chiefs eliminated the Blazers from the Western Hockey League playoffs though.
The Blazers finished the season with a 28-37-4-3 record, double the number of wins the team had in the previous season.
This weekend the Blazers also presented the season awards to the players. Head Coach Don Hay also made the 20-year-old presentations to Brady Gaudet, Logan McVeigh and Joel Hamilton.
