KAMLOOPS – RCMP are warning the public about a small, black bear seen in a back alley in downtown Kamloops this afternoon.

RCMP say they were called to the alley near Seymour Street and 7 Avenue at around noon, Aug. 16.

“RCMP responded and maintained a visual on the bear until it went back into Peterson Creek,” Sgt. Edward Preto says in a media release. “The creek is most likely the route the bear used to make its way into town.”

He says the bear was tipping over garbage cans and eating the garbage.
