PENTICTON - A local cafe and marijuana dispensary was the target of an attempted arson after someone lit a mason jar filled with gasoline and threw it against the front window last night.

Around 9:50 p.m. yesterday, Jan. 19, the owner of Rush In and Finish Café reported hearing something thrown against the front window. When police and fire officials arrived they found a shattered mason jar that had been filled with gasoline. The jar did not break the window and ‘simply went out’.

Surveillance video shows two suspects walking past the business and then backtracking, with one of them throwing the lit jar at the window.

The first suspect was wearing a light-coloured hoodie with jeans and dark shoes while the second suspect was wearing a light-coloured shirt, dark pants and dark coloured shoes.

Anyone with information about this attempted arson is asked to call Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
