KAMLOOPS - Crime Stoppers in Kamloops is asking for the public's help to find an alleged laptop thief.

According to a Facebook post on the organization's page, a man made off with an HP laptop from a kiosk in the middle of the Aberdeen Mall on Aug. 24.

Although all the proper security procedures were followed by chaining the laptop to the kiosk, Crime Stoppers says the suspect came prepared with some type of cutters.

The business owner and security staff at the mall had seen the man around the kiosk earlier and they say the man in surveillance photographs was the person who allegedly stole the computer.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, in his early 30s, with a muscular build, short hair, and a large tattoo on the right side of his chest going down his shoulder.

Crime Stoppers warns that buying stolen property is a criminal offence, and if you're purchasing something, make sure there are receipts or something to prove ownership.

If you can identify this suspect, you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
