A flurry of cold weather in Kamloops this weekend

KAMLOOPS - Crank up the heat and pile on the layers Kamloops, we’re in for more cold and some snow this weekend, according to Environment Canada.

Today, Dec. 8, will offer a little bit of sunshine, but the clouds will roll in full force by this evening, with a 40 per cent chance of flurries. Today’s high of -11 Celsius sets the tone for the weekend. Overnight lows are expected to drop to -14 C.

The weekend’s forecast temperatures are 10 to 15 degrees below seasonal averages.

Friday and Saturday will see flurries throughout the day and night, with highs hovering between -10 C and -9 C, and overnight lows between -11 C and -15 C.

Environment Canada does not expect a lot of snow, they are forecasting between 2 to 4 centimetres in the urban centre over the course of the weekend. They do warn that this arctic front, which will get colder as the week goes on, means that the snow that does fall will linger.

The sun will return on Sunday, and is predicted to remain through next week, but with the thermometer reaching only -11 C during the day, and dropping to of -18 C overnight, be prepared to throw a few more logs on the fire for the next few days.
