KAMLOOPS - The teen responsible for putting a Mackenzie man in hospital with an induced coma has pleaded guilty to multiple charges.
The 15-year-old, who cannot be named under the Canadian Youth Criminal Justice Act, pleaded guilty to several charges including possession of a dangerous weapon, aggravated assault, mischief and uttering threats.
The charges came after an incident at a 7-Eleven convenience store in Kamloops on March 24. Michael Forry, 46, was in town visiting friends when he was struck on the head with a skateboard and sent to hospital. He was put into an induced coma at Royal Inland Hospital while brain swelling went down before being transferred closer to home in North Vancouver.
He was released from hospital in June, left recovering from brain damage and with a scar on his head from over 50 stitches. His family has been outspoken about the crime against Forry.
The teen is expected to be sentenced following a pre-sentence report with a psychological component.
