Police seek suspects in armed robbery spree

KELOWNA - RCMP are on the lookout for male suspects believed responsible for four armed robberies over the past week.

The robberies that began March 5 have a number of things in common, though police say they probably aren't related to another string of robberies that happened at the end of February. Thieves in the recent robberies used knives and handguns to complete the task of stealing cash, liquor and cigarettes.

The first incident, March 5, took place at a convenience store. The second robbery happened at a different convenience store the following night.

Over the weekend, police responded to a liquor store robbery Friday night and another at a gas station Sunday night.

The suspects are described as male, late teens or early 20s and about 5'6" to 6' tall with slim builds.

Mounties say the latest string may be related.

Anyone with information can contact Kelowna RCMP Const. Moon or Const. McBride at 250-762-3300 or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, leaving a tip online at www.crimestoppers.net or by texting your tip to CRIMES (274637) ktown.
