KAMLOOPS - Centennial Park in Westsyde is the stage for the 46th annual Kamloops and District Kennel Club show where more than 1,200 dogs are expected to take a spin around the ring this weekend.
The park is filled with RVs and dog kennels as owners, groomers and handlers prepare many different breeds of dog to be judged over the four-day show.
With specialty groups, obedience and rally trials, puppy shows and junior handling competitions also taking place over the long weekend judges will be busy keeping up with all the toy, herding, hound, non-sporting, sporting, terrier and working dogs taking part this year. This year judges come from B.C., Alberta, Ontario, Manitoba and Argentina.
The weekend also involves some social time for the humans, including an appetizer evening Saturday, a steak dinner Friday and a hot dog dinner Sunday.
