UPDATE: Home invasion at gunpoint in Lake Country likely targeted

A homeowner was help up at gunpoint in what the RCMP are calling a targeting home invasion in Lake Country on Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013.

UPDATE: RCMP say the home invasion in Lake Country appears to be targeted.

LAKE COUNTRY – Residents of Lake Country don’t have to be worried about criminals breaking into their homes and holding them up at gunpoint.

That from the RCMP who said a home invasion in the area of Darlene Road early Sunday morning was targeted.

“The homeowner was threatened at gunpoint,” RCMP Cst. Chris Joy said in a media release. “A large quantity of marijuana and cash was stolen.”

The RCMP media release doesn’t say if shots were fired, if anyone was hurt or if the investigators have any suspects in mind.

A phone message left with the Lake Country RCMP hasn’t been returned.

The police would appreciate help the investigation. Anyone with information regarding the robbery are asked to call Cst. Darwin Robbins at the Lake Country RCMP detachment at 250-766-2288 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
