POLICE SEARCHING FOR MISSING PLANE AND YOUNG PILOT

KAMLOOPS - Rural RCMP are reporting an overdue plane outside the city taken out by a young pilot this morning.

The pilot took the Single Prop 172 Cessna plane out this morning about 10:30 a.m. and failed to return.

The Coast Guard Search and Rescue along with Buffalo Aircraft and search helicopter have been searching northwest of Kamloops Lake along with an RCMP chopper.

While search crews continue their efforts, police are asking anyone who may have seen the plane that can be identified by its tail markers 'CFQTR' around 11:30 a.m. this morning near Kamloops Lake to contact the local detachment as soon as possible by calling 250-828-3000.
