THOMPSON-OKANAGAN — Another round of recalls at Castle Cheese was announced Monday as the Lumby company continues to battle possible listeria contamination.

The latest recall includes the Meddo Balle crumbled feta (200 gr) and Okanagan's Choice Cheese chipped and shredded parmesan cheeses (175 gr) while the recall last week focused on several different Okanagan's Choice Cheese shredded cheeses.

At the end of February the company also recalled a number of other cheeses distributed to the restaurant and hotels (under several different names) including nacho, pizza and tex mex mixes, mozzarella and marble cheeses.

The recall was triggered by the company and no illnesses have been reported. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency warns that any recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.

Listeria contamination may not result in food looking or smelling spoiled, but it can still make you sick. Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headaches and neck stiffness. In extreme cases, listeriosis can cause miscarriage and death. At this time there have not been any reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products. The inspection agency is actively making sure all affected products have been removed from the marketplace.

Last summer Gort's Gouda was behind a national recall after E. coli contamination killed a Vernon woman.
