PENTICTON - Former Penticton Secondary School student Travis Turner joins the cast of Some Assembly Required, a live-action comedy which debuts tonight on YTV at 6:30 p.m.

The show's premise is about a group of teenagers running the fictional Knickknack Toys company. Turner plays graphic designer Aster Vanderberg under the direction of a very young CEO Jarvis Raines, played by Kolton Stewart. Raines became the boss after suing the company when a defective chemistry set blows up at his home. Raines hires his school friends, including Vanderberg, the self-proclaimed King of Swag, to help him run the company.

This role is the latest for Turner who already has a long string of television appearances and hip-hop music gigs. The 26-year-old was born in Oliver and raised in Penticton. His film credits include the lead role in the Marley and Me sequel, TV movies A Fairly Odd Christmas, Trading Christmas and A Princess of Christmas. He also appeared on Fairly Legal, Supernatural and Battlestar Galactica. Filling out his resume are roles in 15 independent films including Scars, Henchin and Snowtrap.
