Kamloops RCMP are asking for public help in tracking down a federal parolee that has been at large since Jan. 14.
A nation-wide warrant has been issued for 33-year-old Andrew Robert Hardenstine who left a community-based residential facility in Kamloops, Jan. 14.
"He's still out there," said RCMP Staff Sgt. Grant Learned.
Hardenstine was serving nearly four years for two convictions of drug possession with trafficking purposes and a weapons-related offence when he was released on parole early January.
"He may have been headed to either the Grand Forks area or the Lower Mainland area where he has associates that are known to him," Learned said.
Hardenstine stands at about five-foot-nine, weighing about 200 pounds with a shaved head, brown hair and blue eyes. Both of his arms are fully tattooed and his ring and pinky fingers are missing from his left hand.
Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts are asked to contact RCMP at 250-828-3000.
While RCMP are seeking help in apprehending the missing parolee, they are cautioning the public about his history of violence.
"Don't put yourself at risk," Learned said. "Just call the police and be the best witness you can be."
