Construction resumes on Kelowna's SOPA Square

Workers from Competition Glass are busy picking up from where they left off over a year ago on the Mission's SOPA Square development.

Life is stirring within the massive concrete building sitting on the 3000 block of South Pandosy Street. Three years after construction first began on the $300 million SOPA Square, the building is finally waking up from a debt-fueled coma

Construction crews are back on site today, picking up from where they left off over a year ago. Workers from Competition Glass could be heard tapping away inside the cavernous concrete structure. One of the workers says he's glad to see the project moving forward.

"It's been a bit of an eyesore" he says.

Electrical and plumbing crews are expected to be working on the site in the coming weeks to expedite the long-awaited completion of the building's street level shops.

A green-grocer, florist, bakery, coffee house and meat shop are just a few of the businesses sure to draw residents back to the west side of Pandosy's 3000 block.
