With all the pomp and ceremony only the miltary can muster, the 65th season of the Vernon Army Cadet Summer Training Centre comes to an end.
Over 700 cadets from all over Western Canada have been spending time in the sunny Okanagan this summer. The last group holds their sunset ceremony tonight at Dieppe Square off Highway 97 on Vernon's south end.
At 5:30 p.m. there will be a presentation from the organzers of the first Okanagan Tattoo, complete with pipes and drums.
There will be a precision rifle drill by the cadets and the centre's band will play.
Then comes the drilling, marching and the inspection by the Col. Derek Macaulay.
The event should wrap up by 7:30 p.m. at the latest.
